Strike a pose

After the awful unwanted midnight visitor incident we decided to do something fun to cheer ourselves up and not think of just how differently my birthday may have ended. I literally shudder at the thought of that. So Des and I had an impromptu photo shoot at sunset, prancing down the beach, waving sarongs around (What’s sarong with that? – sorry bad dad joke) thinking we were on a location shoot for Elle or Cosmo magazine.

So okay, we might not be the next Cara Delevigne or Miranda Kerr but it was just nice to not care what we looked like, that we didn’t have to suck our tummies in and stick our bums out but instead just have a laugh. A real woman photoshoot- God I’m beginning to sound like a Dove commercial!

We even had extras in our shoot in the form of two adorable puppies that lived in the bar next door, Lola and Spice were basically Des’s shadow especially when she nursed Lola back from near death after being poisoned. They awre soooo cwute! (See why do you instantly put on a stupid voice when talking to cute animals or babies?)

Jennie had offered to give me and the girls a tarot card reading as a birthday present. She knows her stuff with this malarkey and has even done readings in Salem Falls on Halloween – how cool is that! I have never had my fortune told before but have always been interested, it may help me to make better life decisions hopefully.

She placed her fancy deck of tarot cards out in a special sequence to allow me to pick cards that she would then interpret to explain my past, my present and my future. She said that I was creative and should use this in my career, whether that is to keep up with my writing or to go down an academic route. She said that I have the sun beneath my feet that makes me a happy go lucky person but that my head was so full of ideas I needed to organise them to make sure I get things done! Apparently I have a strong female role model who will help me to implement my ideas; I will find stability in the future and need to continue to surround myself with like-minded people.

Hmm that all sounds ok although I am slightly worried that there was no mention of meeting a tall dark handsome stranger especially when the other girls had their love cards read out for them!
