They say when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. I always thought what a stupid saying that was but I guess its kind of like saying when life isn’t going to plan then try something different and make a positive out of a negative. That is exactly what this blog is about. I have had the craziest year of my life with my ‘life plan’ being turned upside down and inside out so I have decided to try something completely different and quit my job, leave Manchester which has been my home for the past 9 years and stuff all my belongings in an over-sized backpack to head off alone and see the world.
After uni loads of friends took time off to go travelling but it never really appealed to me. I thought I needed life’s luxuries like hair straighteners and quilted loo roll. But after a very messy break-up, my wedding being called off eight weeks beforehand and the changes that followed I have had a total wake up call of what is important and what I want to get out of life.
So I have booked my one way ticket to Bangkok and got my 12 month working holiday visa to Australia with no real idea of when I will return. Now starts the fun and games of planning, packing, sorting and saving.
